When custom software is the right choice

Off-the-shelf software is the right answer for many problems. Custom software earns its cost when your process is a source of advantage, or when the tools you have force you into workarounds. Common signs:

  • Your real system is a mix of spreadsheets, shared inboxes and manual re-keying.
  • You pay for features you never use and still cannot get the one workflow you need.
  • Per-seat licence costs keep climbing as your team or customer base grows.
  • You need to connect several systems that do not talk to each other.
  • Your customers, partners or regulators expect a specific experience, language or data location.
  • You want to turn an internal process into a product you can sell.

Not sure? Read our guide, custom software vs off-the-shelf: how to decide.

What we build

  • Customer and partner portals: accounts, orders, documents, payments and support in one place.
  • Internal operations tools: scheduling, dispatch, inventory, quoting, approvals and field-service workflows.
  • CRM and sales workflow systems shaped around how your team actually sells.
  • Booking, e-commerce and marketplace platforms with the payment and shipping rules you need.
  • Dashboards and reporting that pull data from every system into one trusted view.
  • APIs and back-end services that power web and mobile apps.
  • SaaS products, from first release to multi-tenant scale.

How we build

Our process is built to give you working software early and keep scope, cost and risk visible.

  1. Discover. We interview your team, map the process and agree on goals, users and success measures.
  2. Design. We plan the architecture, data model and user experience, and break the work into phases.
  3. Build in short iterations. You see working software every few weeks and steer as you go.
  4. Test and secure. Automated tests, code review, and security practices aligned with the OWASP guidance.
  5. Launch and support. We deploy, train your team, monitor the system and keep improving it.

Technology we use

We choose tools for maintainability, hiring availability and long-term cost, not fashion. Typical building blocks include React and TypeScript on the front end, Node.js or Python on the back end, PostgreSQL and other SQL or NoSQL databases, REST and GraphQL APIs, and cloud platforms such as AWS. If you already have a stack, we work with it.

Security, quality and maintainability

  • Encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control and audit logging.
  • Secrets management, dependency scanning and regular updates.
  • Automated build and deployment pipelines (CI/CD) and staging environments.
  • Clear documentation so your team or another vendor can take over if needed.
  • Ownership and licensing of the code are set out in your project agreement.

Built for a global business

Many of our clients sell or operate across borders. We build for it from day one: software in any language, multi-currency and time-zone handling, and hosting in the country you specify, including AI models when data must stay in-country.

Frequently asked questions

How long does custom software take to build?

It depends on scope. A focused internal tool can be ready in weeks. A customer platform with integrations usually takes a few months. We phase the work so a useful first version is live early and the rest follows in stages.

How much does custom software cost?

Cost depends on the number of users and roles, the number of integrations, design needs, security and compliance requirements, and the languages and regions you support. After a short discovery phase we give a scoped estimate and a phased plan so you can control the budget.

Can you work with our existing developers or vendor?

Yes. We can extend an existing system, join your team, review another vendor's code, or take over a project. We start with a technical review so there are no surprises.

Do you support the software after launch?

Yes. We offer maintenance, monitoring and improvement plans, including security updates and new features.

Do you work with clients outside the United States?

Yes. We serve clients worldwide and work remotely across time zones. We can build in the languages you need and host the application in the country you choose.
